This one felt different from the start, and the feedback we received made it even more special.
Paint Your First Mini was a hands-on workshop organized in collaboration with Guild Hall, created for anyone curious about miniature painting, whether they were complete beginners or simply taking their first confident steps into the hobby. The goal was simple: to help people understand how to properly prime, paint, and bring a miniature to life, turning a small model into a character ready for a fantasy world.
Learning to control colour, light, and shading can seem deceptively simple. In reality, especially at the beginning, guidance makes all the difference. Having instructors present to explain techniques, answer questions, and demonstrate each step transformed the experience from intimidating to genuinely enjoyable.
Everything was carefully prepared. From a wide selection of paints to fine-detail tools, the tables were fully equipped and ready for action. All materials were provided by Guild Hall, allowing participants to focus entirely on painting and experimenting without worry.
Before the brushes ever touched paint, we prepared the models ourselves. Units I, II, and III marched from the 3D printers straight into neatly packed bags, ready for transport to Guild Hall. Preparing the miniatures was a joy in itself, fueled by anticipation and curiosity about how each one would be painted.
To ensure durability, we chose Anycubic ABS+ for the prints. It offered the balance we wanted between surface quality and flexibility, making the miniatures resistant enough for transport, handling, and future tabletop adventures.
Seeing so many people fully immersed in painting our models was an incredible experience. The enthusiasm, the focus, and the generous feedback we received meant a great deal to us. Moments like these remind us why we create.
